The 2025 Technology Day gathered members of the Geoenergy center to present progress across four core areas: geothermal and heat-transfer innovations, ultrasonic and electromagnetic sensing, nanotechnology for energy systems, and advanced modeling for EOR and CO鈧 storage.

Dr. Apostolos Kantzas is now director of the Energi Simulation Centre for Geothermal Systems Research at UCalgary, driving innovation in geothermal energy. As the Energi Simulation Chair in Energy Transition, he aims to integrate new technologies, supported by a $1M investment, fostering industry and community collaboration.
