Experts share tips to get hired at Grow Your Career event this Feb. 21

Whether you’re a University of Calgary alum or a current student seeking a new position — or even a staff member looking at the next step in your career journey — you won’t want to miss the upcoming Grow Your Career mini-conference.

The event will run from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. at ´şÉ«Ö±˛Ą downtown campus on Saturday, Feb. 21. Hosted annually by , this event is all about providing proven, accessible strategies to help members of the university community unlock their next career opportunities.

This year’s keynote speaker is Sheila Musgrove, BA’92, founder of and author of the bestselling book, Hired! How to Get the Zippy Gig: Insider Secrets from a Top Recruiter. Musgrove will share her insights about recruitment, how to put your best foot forward, and how to avoid common resumé and interview pitfalls.

Event offers networking and advice opportunities

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to get their resumé reviewed by a career professional, get a professional LinkedIn photo taken, and network with panellists and fellow UCalgary community members over snacks and beverages. Attendees will also receive a copy of Musgrove’s best-selling book to reference as they continue their job searches.
